We believe in the Bible alone, and the Bible in its entirety, is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit. It means that the 66 books of the Bible are inspired equally in all parts, inerrant in all that they teach, and therefore absolutely authoritative as the only infallible rule for faith, life and ministry.
We believe that there is but one living and true God, eternally existent in three persons; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, all three having the same nature, attributes and perfections; operating in perfect harmony the triune God is sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.
We believe that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, in His incarnation, united to His divine nature a true human nature and so became a servant without ceasing to be God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, perfectly obeyed the law of God, died on the cross as an atonement for sin and rose again bodily on the third day for our justification. His sacrificial death was voluntary, vicarious, substitutionary, propitiatory, and redemptive. His life, teaching, and miracles constitutes a unique revelation of God. Having ascended into heaven, to the Father’s right hand, He now reigns and intercedes for His redeemed. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, the supernatural and sovereign agent in creation, revelation and salvation. He is sent by the Father and the Son to baptize and build the body of Christ. His activity therefore includes convicting the world of sin and of righteousness; glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ and transforming believers into the image of Christ; bestowing His gifts, empowering the believers for service and sealing them unto the day of redemption.
We believe that God by His Word freely created the world out of nothing. He made man and woman in His own image, as the crown of creation, that they might live in relationship with God and one another and be stewards of the creation. Tempted by Satan, they rebelled against God, sinned and consequently incurred physical death and spiritual separation from God; bringing sin, guilt, depravity and the wrath of God upon all humanity.
We believe that God by His grace and mercy redeems all who through faith repent of their sin and confess Him as sovereign Lord. They are justified by grace through faith in the Saviour and given new life by the Holy Spirit. Salvation is therefore by grace alone and cannot be earned by good works or merit making. God further wills that Christians grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. For they are called to a life of discipleship and holiness in joyful obedience to the Lord and Saviour.
We believe that the church is the people of God, the body of Christ and a fellowship in the Spirit, of all those saved by the grace of God. They are a people chosen by God, redeemed by the blood of Christ, sanctified and kept by the power of the Holy Spirit. We also believe that this one, holy, catholic and apostolic church finds expression in local bodies of believers, each of whom manifest union with Christ by preserving purity of life and doctrine, avoiding schism and heresy. The church is called by Christ to offer acceptable worship to God and to serve him by preaching the gospel and making disciples of all nations, by tending the flock through the ministry of the Word and sacraments and through pastoral care, by striving for personal holiness, peace and social justice and by relieving human distress and need.
We believe that at a day and hour known only to God, the Lord Jesus Christ shall come again personally, bodily, visibly, gloriously to consummate His Kingdom of righteousness and peace.
We believe in the resurrection of the unrighteous to eternal punishment and the resurrection of the righteous to eternal glory in the new heaven and the new earth.
